The sustainability approach at KAEFER consists of four equal dimensions - economic, social, environmental and cultural. These dimensions are supported by our vision "to eliminate the energy waste" and the three core principles which are part of the KAEFER business strategy:

Training and skills development

Training forms an integral part of KAEFER’s safety achievements, and our in-house Sizani Technical Skills Training Centre has been accredited by the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA). Training courses are offered on-site in South Africa and neighbouring countries and are designed to assist companies in meeting the demands of the ever-increasing new safety legislation.

Committed to making a difference

KAEFER is committed to being a responsible and contributing corporate citizen which means investing in, and enriching communities where we work. We encourage employee volunteerism in the corporate social responsibility activities of the company.

KAEFER Aids Relief Programme (KARP), initiated in 2005, aims to focus on education, prevention and treatment programmes and provides Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) to all its employees.

KAEFER Thermal has been involved in numerous projects to uplift communities in the localities where we are active. Over the years, these projects have developed a greater focus on Education as we believe that this is the key to sustainable social and economic upliftment; children are the future.
