KAEFER was established in South Africa in 1976 later acquiring 100% of Thermal Insulation Supplies and Contractors (Pty) Ltd from Murray and Roberts in 1998.  

Head quartered in Johannesburg, the company has established itself as a market leader in insulation, access solutions, surface protection, passive fire protection and asbestos solutions, serving industries as diverse as petrochemical plants, power generation, mining and processing, chemicals and paper manufacturing.  

KAEFER has worked on insulation, scaffolding and painting projects both within South Africa's borders as well as in other African countries such as Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland  

• New Build projects such as PPC Dwaalboom and Medupi power station
• Expansion and refurbishment projects such as PP2 Sasol Secunda, and Omnia Nitrate plant.
• Maintenance services at Sapref Refinery, Tutuka, Matimba and Majuba power stations and Richard’s Bay Coal Terminal.
